Stephanie told me it had been years since they had family pictures. In fact – as she sat in the consult she teared up describing a severe storm that damaged their home – and water destroying not just countless things inside their home – but most of the pictures of her oldest daughter Jaenlin. “I don’t even have hardly an pictures of her now!” I sat with her – feeling in the pit of my stomach her loss.
I was really happy to tell her that not only does every single collection I offer with family sessions come with a set of small prints, AND a finished product (wall art, or a book) but I back up the digital files in a secure off site location – safe from Kansas wind, rain, and hail. She added “And Anniston is four and hasn’t had any professional images since she was a baby!” I smiled. ‘We are going to change that.”
When Stephanie left I could NOT have been more excited for our upcoming session. Like with most of my family sessions, Stephanie and the girls came in early for hair, makeup and to play dress up a bit before the boys joined us at the end.
Anniston found so many accessories in the studio – we had to try several ways of looking like a princess.
It is time for Jealin to shine!
After some bright fun colorful shots at the girls request – the girls all changed into the black sets mom wanted for them to wear for wall portraits. Each personality become so aparent as we waited for everyone to be dressed and ready.

Robbie even jumped in a few shots as well as Dad. Even if your guys aren’t a huge fan of having pictures done – every mom deserves a simple,
timeless portrait of the men in her life that she loves.

We ended up at the family farm where we grabbed some more casual outside photos in a place where they have built a lifetime of memories.
