What is more natural than beautiful pictures of a Kansas girl in a field of sunflowers? Alexis, Aubri, Emma and Abigail all joined me on a muggy summer night on the edge of a sea of yellow. This was something we planned for months!

“Keep your face toward the sunshine and you can’t see the shadows… It’s what the sunflowers do!“

The best unexpected thing about about taking your pictures in a sunflower field? They bloom during the county fair – and we ended the night with fried pickles and corndogs and way to much fun!

Every year I have girls who ask about getting their pictures taken with sunflowers. A couple of things to keep in mind if that is something you want to do!
*First – sunflowers are REAL flowers and their bloom time is only about two weeks. We need to plan ahead to be ready to ROCK when they bloom!
* Second – Sunflowers tend to bloom in South East Kansas in August. So it WILL be hot, and a bit muggy! The good news is you can always have part of your session in our climate controlled amazing studio AND have part of your session on location too!
* Wondering what to wear wear in your sunflower pictures? You can’t go wrong with a sundress and floppy hat – but yellow is a wonderful versitile color and you should pick look that reflects YOUR personality!
